  • SPACES Project 2024-Now

    Role: Principal Investigator.
    Fund: Fondazione CRT.
    Description: The project, proposed in collaboration with the Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders in Adulthood, ASL City of Turin, involves the development of a software application that enables the formation of thematic groups in order to increase the sociability of people with mid- to high-functioning autism spectrum disorder. The challenge is the formation of groups in which the interests and idiosyncrasies and interaction needs of people with autism spectrum disorder are shared.

    Description: The project "Accessibility to clinical care for people with ASD through anxiety management by using personalized applications and IoT" aims to develop technologies to support the anxiety management of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) when they face clinical treatment.

    Description: Innovative knowledge transfer for the enhancement of tourism through new products, destinations, itineraries. In particular, my contribution will focus on the design and development of a recommender system in the field of cultural heritage and the related presentation of suggestions to users.

    Description: The project "Revisualizing Italian Silentscapes 1896-1922. Landscapes and Locations in Early Italian Cinema a Hundred Years Later" focuses on increasing the visibility of film heritage with the development of new forms of semantic data organisation and new digital databases (DB). Moreover, the project aims to develop an application with thematic searches for individual sections of the audiovisual product and to combine the access to geo-localised data of film heritage with metadata search.

    Description: The project "Inclusive Personalised Tourism Systems for Autism (CARES)" focuses on the needs and interests of people with autism to support them in their tourism exploration. In particular, the project aims to enable adults with autism to have an enjoyable tourist experience for them, their caregivers and family members.

    Description: The Triangolazioni project focuses on the idea of triangulation as a tool to reconstruct a network of interconnections between histories - ancient and recent - scientists, intellectuals, discoveries, progress, revolutions. The project involves the development of a web application to visualize the semantic interconnections between different Points of Interest within a geographic map.

    Description: The OPENALPLAB project focuses on the areas near to the Istituto Mosso (Passo Salati, Monte Rosa) and the laboratorio didattico Geodidalab (Lago San Michele, Ivrea). These sites have an high number of visitors but they show some problems in the contents fruition caused by the diverse environmental ecosystems. The project aims in improving the data fruition and the public engagement in these areas by paying attention to the environmental protection. Specifically, the project aims to actively involve the population and the schools with the use of ICT technologies in order to share and improve the information about territories. Within OPENALPLAB, my research focuses on the development of an intelligent system useful to explore the territorial information through the use of interactive widgets that allow to search and filter the desired data.

    Description: The web application OnToMap - Mappe di Comunità 3.0 was developed with the aim of responding to citizenship emerging needs, being configured as an easy and quick tool to consult spatial data, create custom maps, report to local administrators critical issues or new proposals. Within the OnToMap project, my research focused on the development of methodologies for information exploration support and geographic data visualization.

    Description: The project Personalized Interactive Urban Maps for Autism (acronym PIUMA) aims to help people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) move and live within cities by means of a new digital service that provides interactive personalized maps. Within the PIUMA project, my research focused on the development of a recommender system of Points of Interest for people with autism that takes into account users' sensory aversions and preferences in making suggestions.

    Description: CO3, Digital Disruptive Technologies to Co-create, Co-produce and Co-manage Open Public Services along with Citizens, aims at assessing the benefits and risks of disruptive technologies, namely: blockchain, augmented reality, geolocated social network, liquid democracy tools and gamification, in the co-creation, co-production and co-management of public services with citizens as PAs partners. Within the co3project, I focused on the design of data structures and inferential models for the attribution of achievements (points, badges, etc.) for a gamification model.
